We talk to Professor Michael Leuchner from the Department of Physical Geography and Climatology about the future development of the climate in the area, the effects of global warming on the local flora and fauna, green energies and new technologies. Professor Leuchner explains what tipping points are, the significance of the jet stream and which climate analog regions could provide information about the future climate of the Rhenish mining area. He also tells us whether climate change can still be stopped and what each individual can do about it.
