The shortage of natural gas and electricity presents RWTH and all of us with major challenges. We want and need to save energy! For the environment, for society, for all of us.
Each and every one of us can contribute to this: the usage behavior of nearly 10,000 employees and 50,000 students makes a decisive contribution to the energy consumption of the University.
By implementing the energy-saving hints and tips, all University members can help reduce energy consumption - both that of RWTH and in their private households.
Do you have further ideas and suggestions on how our energy consumption can be reduced? Do you have any specific ideas for offices, laboratories, workshops and halls?
Feel free to share them informally with us by e-mail.
Statements
Saving energy at RWTH has never been easy, because we only rent our buildings and the energy supply has to cover many special cases from research activities. Now energy saving is in focus and we can immediately look together for the small and bigger ways in which we can avoid waste. At the same time, we will be focusing fully on excellent teaching and research, as our graduates and new solutions remain the most important contributions of RWTH to solve upcoming challenges!Prof. Dirk Müller, Institute Director, Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate
