Welcome Service for Professors
The RWTH Aachen Welcome Service for Professors offers newly appointed professors and their families comprehensive support to make their start at RWTH and in Aachen as easy as possible. The Welcome Center gladly serves as the central point of contact and networks and provides technical and skilled advising from the respective service centers. Whether it be activating a central email address, information about funding opportunities and research clusters, or help in finding a job for one's partner via our Dual Career Service: We know who can help you.
Family Services Center and Family-Friendly University
The Family Services Center is an advising and resource center for all university members expecting a child or who are already parents. It significantly contributes to the development of individual and well-fitting supervising strategies, which enables university members to balance family and employment or studies long term.
An important component of the future-oriented promotion of university members is family-friendly human resources management, that include responsible and sensitive treatment of topics such as childcare and care for family members on the part of management. This enables better compatability between family and career, which is simultaneously the first prerequisite for equal treatment of men and women. You can find out more about the topic family-friendly university at RWTH Aachen and the annually awarded prize FAMOS für FAMILIE.
Center for Professional Leadership: Offerings for Professors
With its Program for Professors offered by the Center for Professional Leadership (CPL), RWTH seeks to accompany professors in assuming and managing their different roles as researchers, teachers, and managers. Special services for newly appointed professors within the Starter Kits initiative support them in arriving and settling into their new job at RWTH.
Service for New Appointments from Abroad
RWTH Aachen considers successful integration as one of the most important prerequisites for a successful stay. Newly appointed professors from abroad receive individual support when preparing for their stay as well as upon their arrival in their new environment and in everyday life. Comprehensive and diverse information and services, such as visa and other formalities, language courses, housing, social and family services, as well as recreational possibilities are to make integration easier for internationally mobile professors.
In close collaboration with the International Office, we have compiled some useful information for our new professors from all over the world.
