The Election Office, situated in the Division of Academic Affairs, Examination and University Law, organizes the election of Senate members and Faculty Councils at RWTH Aachen University.

Posting Board
The Official Posting Board is on the ground floor of the RWTH Main Building in the west wing by Room 030.
2023 Council Elections in the Group of Students
The elections for the Senate and the faculty councils for the Student Group will be held from June 19 to 23, 2023. At the same time, the elections for the student councils will be carried out by secret ballot. For more information, please refer to the German webpages on elections offered by the AStA Students' Committee.
If students apply for an absentee ballot for either of these two elections, then the application is valid for both, as long as the students are eligible to vote in both elections.
The timing of the elections process for the Senate and the faculty councils is illustrated in the preliminary election schedule. In the downloads section below, you will also find information regarding the distribution of seats according to electoral districts.
Nominations must be submitted online by 2 May 2023, 12 noon, using the following form. The corresponding guide is available in the Downloads section. Gender parity must be ensured when appointing members to the committees. Accordingly, the nominations should reflect this.
The election announcement (de) will be displayed on the posting board in the Main Building from April 11, 2023.
The electoral roll will be available digitally from April 24 to June 9, 2023. Students can view the electoral roll by clicking on the following link. Objections to the accuracy of the electoral roll can be submitted in writing to the electoral administration within the period permitted or can be submitted as an official record. Only those listed in the electoral roll are eligible to vote.
The student nominations (de) will be published on the Election Office's official notice board from May 23, 2022.
Vorter's notifictions will be sent out by email to all eligible individuals by May 30, 2023. Please note that the sender is formular-info@rwth-aachen.de. Emails from the Election Office are always digitally signed and sent without attachments. The email only contains links to SSL-certified websites of the University.
