2022 Council Elections in All Groups

This year’s elections for the Senate and the Faculty Councils will be carried out as an online election between May 30, 10am, and June 17, 2022, 10am, for the group of employees:

For the group of students, the committee election will be held as a ballot election with the possibility of postal voting during the period from June 20 to 24, 2022. At the same time, the student body will run the elections for the student councils, such as student parliament, various faculty councils, etc., in short, student elections, also via secret ballot. Further information on these elections can be found on the pages of the student body's election committee.

The timeline of the elections for the Senate and the Faculty Councils is shown in the election run-up model for employees (dates and deadlines of the election) and the election run-up model for students (dates and deadlines of the election). In the download area, you will find the electoral district breakdowns with the seat distributions for the various groups.

The employee electoral roll will be available online from April 4 to May 2, 2022. RWTH staff can view the electoral roll here by clicking the embedded link.

The student electoral roll will be available online from April 25 to June 9, 2022. Students can view the electoral roll here by clicking the embedded link.

Within the above time frame, any objections to the accuracy of the electoral roll can be submitted to the election officer in writing or by stating their objections to them orally, with the election officer then authorized to put them down in writing. Only the employees who are listed on the electoral roll are entitled to vote.

 

Election nominations are submitted online. The nominations for the group of employees in technology and administration are to be submitted by April 11, 2022, 12 noon. Employees can submit their nominations using the employee nominations form (de).

Students can submit their nominations until May 2, 2022, using the student nominations form (de).

When appointing individuals to the committees, gender parity must be ensured. Accordingly, it would be wise to already take gender parity into account when submitting the list of nominations.

The election announcement for employees (de) will be published on the Election Office's official notice board on March 21, 2022. The election announcement for students (de) will be published on the board on April 11, 2022. The announcements will include an explanation of the election regulations.

The submission of election proposals takes place online. The election proposals must be submitted for the group of employees by April 11, 2022, 12 noon.

Employees can submit their election proposals using the following form.

Students can submit their election proposals until May 2, 2022, 12 noon and please use this form.

Gender parity must be taken into account when appointing members to the committees. Accordingly, this is also appropriate for the election proposals.

 

The election notice for employees will be published in the official notice box of the Election Office from March 21, 2022, and the election notice for students from April 11, 2022. It contains all important regulations regarding these elections.

The nominations for the group of employees will be posted in the Elections Office Official Bulletin Board Box from April 26, 2022.

The nominations for the group of students will be posted in the Elections Office Official Bulletin Board Box from May 17, 2022.

Election notices will be emailed to all eligible voters in May. The return address is formular-info@rwth-aachen.de. Election Office emails are always signed and sent without attachments. Only links to SSL-certified university websites are included in the email.
