The Division of Staff and Leadership Development belongs to the Department of Staff Development and Talent Management in RWTH Aachen Central University Administration. The division supports academic, technical, and administrative staff in developing and expanding their professional, leadership and management competencies.

Develop Your Professional Competencies

Our academic, administrative and technical staff have to master a wide range of challenges in their everyday activities. Societal developments lead to permanently changing conditions for work in science and academia and thus to ever new requirements in leadership and management, administration, technology, and organization. We support you in developing your skills profile and expanding your key competencies with a wide range of services.

Center for Professional Leadership

We at the Center for Professional Leadership support executive academic, technical, and administrative staff with a wide range of workshops and seminars as well as certificate courses, advising services, coaching programs, and networking opportunities.

We welcome and support our new professors with an Onboarding Service and our Starter Kits program. We assist you in building and expanding your leadership and management skills by offering workshops and coaching formats tailored to the needs of newly appointed and experienced professors alike.

Center for Staff Development

The Center for Staff Development is the skills training hub for all technical, administrative, and academic staff. We support you in all matters relating to the acquisition of key competencies, including the selection of training programs that help you achieve your goals. Our continuing education program offers a wide range of events and seminars in a wide range of areas. These cover specialist topics such as IT or language courses, but also transversal skills such as presentation skills or time- and self-management skills. We also offer to develop offerings specifically tailored to your division, team, or work group.

Continuing Training for Research Managers

In addition to completing courses offers as part of our regular events program, such as "Project and Change Management" or "Lateral Leadership for Project Managers", research managers can participate in the 5-module RWTH Research Manager certificate course in order to further develop their research management skills.
