Description
There are many reasons why it could become difficult to finish your thesis - some doctoral candidates are pressed for time, others find it hard to motivate themselves, are scared before exams or simply started to dislike their scientific work. Whatever the reasons are - it is always worth completing your PhD. when the process has advanced far already. The workshop will provide you with methods and strategies to do this.
The pandemic and its effects are currently adding further challenges to doctoral candidates:

How do you deal with the need to change topics or procedures in the last phase, since data or information are not available?

What does "remote support" mean and how do you deal with it?
-
Which other challenges result from uncertain exam situation or future prospects (e.g. job search)

How to deal with unwanted extensions of the doctorate period?

The workshop should provide individual help.
Participation:
-
To participate you need a laptop or computer with audio / video function (microphone and camera). You also need a stable internet connection.

You will receive an individual login code for the moodle course room for the workshop on 5 days before the preparation period latest
-
Preparation phase - prerequisite for participation: approx. 2 hours, on your own time: in the moodle course room you will find materials and tasks to prepare. If necessary, these tasks are supervised by the trainer.

On the online attendance date, we will work together on interactive learning situations from 9:00 am to around 1:30 pm (short breaks)

Transfer phase: approx. 2 hours, on your own time: in the moodle course room you will receive feedback, can ask further questions and exchange ideas with the trainer and the other participants.

Target Audience
doctoral candidates, who are registered in the Doctoral Academy and who have only up to 12 months of time left to finish their thesis.
