2018 Distinguished RWTH Fellows
On January 26, 2018, Professor Jürgen Flöge from the Faculty of Medicine and Professor Matthias Wuttig from the Department of Physics were named RWTH Fellows. The official award ceremony took place as part of this year’s RWTHtransparent event.
The RWTH Fellows program honors outstanding professors at RWTH who have shown outstanding research achievements and have significantly contributed to the University's excellent reputation.
Jürgen Flöge joined RWTH Aachen University in 1999 and has significantly contributed to the topic of "translational nephrology," the fruitful intertwining of basic research and patient-oriented research in the field of kindney research. His world-leading achievements in this field and his dedication to higher education policy-making provide the basis for his appointment as RWTH Fellow.
Matthias Wuttig is a pioneer in the field of resistive nanoswitches, so-called phase change switches. He has helped shape the profile of RWTH and rendered outstanding services to both his faculty and the University in general. He has been appointed RWTH Fellow for his outstanding research achievements and his commitment to the University.
