Every day, we breathe in and out about 25,000 times to supply our bodies with oxygen. However, if this oxygen supply is disturbed, serious problems can arise. HBOX Therapies is developing an innovative platform technology for extracorporeal hyperbaric oxygenation of blood. This extracorporeal procedure (similar to dialysis) uses pressure to dissolve a lot of oxygen in the blood – as a result, the technology can always help when a lot of oxygen is needed. When treating CO poisoning in this way, the dissolved oxygen displaces the CO from the blood and removes it from the body, ending the oxygen deficiency as quickly as possible. Thus, the frequently occurring secondary damage is reduced or even prevented.

The HBOX technology can support the function of the lungs of patients with a severe respiratory failure. The technology greatly increases the oxygen level in the blood, so the medical device and vascular access points can be very small, making the therapy less risky.
