RWTH Easter 2022 Vacation Recreation
In 2022, the RWTH Family Services Center will be offering recreation weeks during the Easter vacation for children of students and employees of RWTH aged 7 to 13. For the first time, the weeks will be run in cooperation with Bleiberger Fabrik. A total of 30 places is available for children of university employees for both vacation weeks at Bleiberger Fabrik. The places can be booked for either the first or second week. The participation fee is 110 euros per working week for one child and 100 euros per working week for siblings.
Students have the option of applying for a childcare subsidy upon presentation of their Family Card to the Family Services Center, bringing the cost down to 50 euros per child.
Employees who register two or more children can contact the Family Services Center by email and also apply for a subsidy.
Further information on participation and for parents is available directly from Bleiberger Fabrik. We encourage anyone interested in participating to sign up for the newsletter with updates on what Bleiberger Fabrik has to offer.
Registration for the two Easter weeks is now open.
The registration period for the first week of Easter ends March 20, 2022. The registration period for the second vacation week of Easter ends March 27, 2022.
It is possible to withdraw free of charge until the end of the registration period. After this date, the participation fees can only be refunded if the places can be reallocated.
Registration for the Easter vacation weeks is operated by Bleiberger Fabrik directly. Please state "RWTH" after your name in the registration form, so that the place can be allocated to RWTH's contingent.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation of your registration and a confirmation of your place. The childcare contract is concluded with Bleiberger Fabrik, and the other general conditions (childcare times, group sizes and allocations, hygiene measures, etc.) are also subject to the specifications of Bleiberger Fabrik. A refund of the participation fees, if applicable, will also be processed directly through Bleiberger Fabrik.
In case of a cancelation during the registration period, the place in the RWTH contingent will be made available again. The Family Services Center is not keeping a waiting list, so the team cannot make any last-minute place allocations.
Vacation recreation weeks are also planned for the first three weeks of the summer vacation and the second week of the fall vacation, with more detailed information to follow at a later date.
What Is the University Adventure Playground?
The University Adventure Playground is a vacation recreation service for the children of RWTH members and students. The RWTH Family Services Center initiated this service to give employed and student parents the possibility to have their children supervised during the Easter, summer, and fall breaks.
Children of employees of the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen can register at the Family Service Office for the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen vacation recreation
Registrations for parents outside the University can also be considered for weeks that are not fully booked.
The program is designed with children aged six to eleven in mind. It is targeted towards sports enthusiasts and adventurous children who want to experience something special during their break. Each week has a different topic: children will be researching, playing, crafting, discovering, and doing sports together. Some of the topics are related to RWTH and its institutions and faculties.
It is also possible to form integrative groups including children with disabilities. Please contact the Family Services Center for more details. Please note, however, that we cannot supervise children who cannot climb stairs or are in need of nursing support, as our facilities and restrooms are not fully accessible for the disabled.
We will send you the final details about the week that you have booked at least a week before the program starts.
Children and their supervisors go on exciting discovery and experience tours in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion area and within our university during the supervised period.
You can drop your child off at the specified meeting point between 7:45 and 8:30am. The program ends at 4pm. Please pick your child up by 4:15pm. If you need to pick your child up at an earlier time on a specific day, please let us know in advance.
An adventure playground day starts with a collective self-made breakfast. Excursions and games then follow. For lunch, the children will either eat a warm meal prepared by the participants, a meal at one of the Student Services canteens or cafeterias, or a self-packed lunch.
To register your child or children for one of the weeks, please send the registration form by email or fax to 0241/80-92545 from January 18.
For weeks that are overbooked, all registrations will first be collected from January 18 to January 31, 2021. Afterwards, a lottery will decide which families, including all registered children, will get a place. For weeks that are not fully booked by January 31, 2021, further registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. To allow as many families of RWTH as possible to benefit from the program, please understand that you can book a maximum of four weeks per year and per child.
Places will finally be allocated once we have received the signed childcare agreement and the parental contribution.
