Scientific Prizes


Scientific prizes are awarded to researchers for various achievements. They contribute to the reputation and visibility of the individual researcher and his or her home university.

There is a broad range of different scientific prizes – prizes for outstanding achievements in research, for knowledge transfer from science to industry, for excellent early-career researchers, and for outstanding dissertations.

Important academic prizes include the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize, the Alfried Krupp Prize, the Max Planck-Humboldt Research Award, the NRW Innovation Award, and many others.
