Follow-up Report: Virtual Advanced Talents Days 2020Copyright: Zoom
This year's Advanced Talents Days will be held on June 16 and 17, 2020, titled "Get Ready for a Professorship – Application and Self-Marketing in Times of Corona." For the first time, the lectures and workshops will be held in a virtual format online.
The program focused on topics related to career planning on the way to professorship. More than 85 participants, including advanced doctoral students, postdocs, heads of junior research groups and junior professors, took advantage of the opportunity to take part in the online workshops and lectures offered on the topics of “Applying for a Professorship,” “Alternative Career Paths,” “Science Communication,” and “Assessment Center in Academia” and to obtain comprehensive information. In a live discussion, which was also attended by the Vice Rector of RWTH, Professor Doris Klee, and the Vice Rector of the University of Cologne, Professor Ansgar Büschges, the challenges and opportunities in career planning in times of corona were discussed.
The 5th Advanced Talents Days, which were held in cooperation between RWTH Aachen University, the University of Cologne and, for the first time, Forschungszentraum Jülich, were once again a great success this year! We are already looking forward to the upcoming Advanced Talents Days 2021, which will be hosted by Forschungszentrum Jülich.
