Research Data Management - an Overview (RDM I - online)

Description

Research data are the basics and outcome of scientific work. An aware and sustained handling of research data improves the effectivity of research and is an integral part of good scientific practice.

Based on the life cycle of research data, the course provides a brief introduction to the concepts of research data management (RDM) and an overview of the services and infrastructure offered by RWTH Aachen University.

Objective

After completing this course, you will know the tasks and challenges in the field of RDM along the entire research data life cycle. Since you are familiar with the basic concepts of RDM and the basic infrastructure of RWTH, you will be able to draft your personal RDM guide.

Note:

This course is also available in German language titled " Überblick zum Management von Forschungsdaten (FDM I - online)". The content is required in all advanced FDM II sessions.

After registration you will receive the link to the learning room (in RWTHmoodle). For the login, you will need your RWTH username and password. You could start the course at any time in 2023 and work on it in your own pace. The total working time of the course is designed for 4 hours.
