The International Office of RWTH Aachen University supports researchers from RWTH in preparing and carrying out their stay abroad and also helps newly appointed or visiting researchers from abroad to plan their stay at RWTH Aachen University and provides them with guidance while they are here.

 

Interested students and scholars benefit from the department's diverse scholarship programs, the international expertise of its staff, and the global network that the team maintains and expands in its daily work.

Financial support

The International Office offers various scholarships to support your stay abroad or at RWTH. Would you like to spend time as a doctoral student or postgraduate in the USA or Canada? This can be made possible, for example, with the RWTH Research Ambassador Scholarship. Or are you interested in working more closely with our strategic partners at Tsinghua University in China, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in India, or the University of Alberta in Canada? The RWTH International Office can also offer you various options for financial support so you can take advantage of these opportunities.

Expertise, Advice, Networking

Furthermore, the International Office offers you advice and expertise on many different countries and cooperation opportunities worldwide. This support can include information on suitable contacts or cooperation partners, analyses of various regions of interest, advice on the opportunities and risks of potential partnerships, as well as information on applying for funding through third parties. In this context, the International Office works closely with the relevant ministries and science organizations and regularly organizes various events with external experts at RWTH Aachen University.

Welcome Center for International Researchers

Our Welcome Center for International Researchers is aimed at professors, visiting researchers, postdocs, and doctoral candidates coming to RWTH Aachen University from abroad. The Welcome Center offers advice and support during preparations for and  throughout the stay and also helps with all non-academic questions about the stay in Aachen.
