Speed Funds & Talent Talks
Speed Funds – Bring Technical Ideas to Reality
The RWTH Profile Areas support Master’s projects by talented students via the “Speed Funds” concept. In cooperation with the Hans-Hermann-Voss-Stiftung, since the 2020/21 winter semester funding is provided that enables concepts to be tested, ideas to be turned into prototypes, and results to be presented to the specialist community at international conferences.
In this way, the University's cutting-edge research on current interdisciplinary research questions has a direct impact on the education of our students – as a result of students and their supervisors working together on solution-based applications ("vertical interdisciplinarity").
All Master’s students from chairs and institutes that are assigned to one of the Profile Areas that match the criteria of the call for applications may apply. The next application period will open in May 2024.
Profile Area Talent Talks
As part of the symposium “Profile Area Talent Talks”, the graduates present the results of their work and develop ideas on how their prototype or demonstrator can be scientifically further developed. The celebratory event is accompanied by members of University Management, representatives of the Hans Hermann-Voss-Stiftung as well as specialized scouts from RWTH INNOVATION, an organization that assists graduates in setting up their own livelihood.
We are pleased that our concept of the RWTH Speed Funds has been supported by the Hans Hermann Voss-Stiftung since the winter semester 2020/21 and are proud that the presentation of the results from the initial rounds have created a perspective for further cooperation.
