Legal recycling rates raise urgent questions about recycling and the environmental impact of carbon fibres (CF) and carbon fibre reinforced plastics waste in the aviation, automotive, construction and sports sectors. With the current state of the art, it is not possible to recycle carbon fibres without loss in their length and there is a lack of a high-quality recycling concepts for these short, recycled CF in mass market applications. This study shall focus on reuse of recycled CF as a short-fibre reinforcement in concrete for high-Performance application (e.g. industrial floors, tunnel construction). Therefore, the influence of the dosage, the CF type and the fibre's surface treatment (e.g. by coating, plasma atmosphere, etc..) on the mechanical properties of CF-fibre concrete shall be investigated. The aim is to estimate the best combination between the parameters mentioned.
