The studies reveals around 700,000 deaths per year due to harmful bacteria and this number is expected to reach 10 Million by 2050. The world is looking for sustainable solution to cope with this problem. The aim of the project is to develop the interior textile, which resist the development and the growth of the harmful bacteria. In the course of this project, interior textiles will be developed, which kills the bacteria as soon as bacteria comes in contact. These textile materials can be used as curtain or the wall covering and this way provide the maximum protection against harmful bacteria. The activity of the textile products will also be made controllable depending on the bacterial concentration in the atmosphere. This project is an interdisciplinary project between textile, chemistry and medical science institutes. The outcome of this project will be interior textiles capable of reducing the bacteria concentration in residential buildings significantly.
