MoveOn
Preforming is an essential step in producing a Resin Transfer molding part. Conventional preforming methods result in a lot of restrictions in fiber orientation and scrap material. Therefore, IKV develops a new preforming method based on the filament winding process, which offers high automation in combination with almost no restrictions regarding the fiber orientation. Focus of the investigation is the development of a suitable winding frame, automated winding program generation and process optimization regarding higher production speeds.

Your task could include: Process analysis and optimization, Shape calculation for drapable preforms and experimental verification, Winding of a multi-material preform (Carbon- and glass fiber)
