MoveOn

Fibre reinforced thermoplastics have several advantages in comparison to composites based on thermosets. Besides advantageous production costs and mechanical properties they have a high potential for automated production. However, due their high melting viscosity, current fibre reinforced thermoplastic do not achieve their highest possible properties. You are going to change this during this project.

Task

Your Task is to develop a production process for polymer coating of glass fibers and to test the archived material in terms of quality and mechanical properties with an eye on automotive applications. In order to solve this task you will be working in a team of young scientist and experts, as well as use state of the art machinery.

Requirements

You should have a technical background and understanding for engineering issues. Furthermore, you should be able to work independently and structured, as the team will rely on your results in their work. Background on glass fibers, composites or coating technology would be helpful.
