MoveOn

Conventional light sources are increasingly being replaced by more energy-efficient LEDs. Today, the classic process chain for manufacturing LED lighting systems is still divided into many complex individual steps. The long process chain results in a very high technical, logistical and time expenditure. The aim of the project is to develop an LED lighting system that can be completely manufactured in a highly integrated injection moulding production cell.

Task

Simulations of the injection moulding process are necessary for tool and process development. Within this framework, the various material components are to be systematically illustrated with regard to thermal and rheological properties. Furthermore, parameters such as cavity pressures and the heat balance of the component should be simulated.

Requirements

The applicant should show an interest in plastics processing, especially in injection moulding. Motivation and pleasure in simulative work are required.
