MoveOn

The project aims to identify ethical, social and legal aspects of platform-related work. During digitalization platform-based systems and variations of digital work (crowdwork, gigwork etc.) are adopted into all areas of everyday life. Nevertheless, there is little research on how work as such changes through the integration of digital devices. To this end, existing, past and possible future innovation trends for digital platform systems are to be examined. We aim to identify which practices and tactics user developed to cope with platform-specific controlmechanisms.

Task

The task of the UROP-project is to analyze user-practices and -tactics to cope with platform-based control-mechanisms and technology-related limitations. Are there typical behavior patterns that are promising across platforms? Are the forms of participation comparable with analogous forms of social participation, or do platforms offer completely new options? Besides active research, the trainee should gain an insight into the everyday life of a research institution and support research management and project coordination.

Requirements

The trainee should be interested in topics related to digital platforms, social participation, and data economy.
