The application process and Erasmus+ scholarship grant are broken down into the following phases:
First, you have to find out about exchange opportunities through your faculty or department and select one. It may be helpful to read the experience reports of other Erasmus students. Get advising from your faculty or department's Erasmus+ coordinator to plan the curriculum during your study abroad.
During this step, we highly recommend attending one of the International Office's Erasmus+ group advising sessions.
Submitting the Application to Your Faculty or Department
Please note: The application and selection process for für Erasmus study placements take place in your faculty or department. Please contact the respective für Erasmus coordinator in your faculty or depatment to learn about how to apply and when the deadline is. Submit your application documents by the respective deadline to your Erasmus+ coordinator. You can find more details about what the application includes and when to submit it on your faculty or department's website – see the list of RWTH faculties and departments.
Allocation of Erasmus+ Study Placements by the Faculties and Departments
After you submit your application, the faculties or departments select the Erasmus+ exchange students. If you are selected, your faculty or department will contact the respective faculty at the host university and also inform the RWTH Aachen International Office about your selection.
The faculty or faculty division/department is responsible for the allocation of Erasmus+ study places and all academic questions concerning your Erasmus+ stay, choise of classes or recognition of assessments, for example.
The International Office is your contact for all other questions concerning your planned stay abroad.
