Osaka University
Profile
Osaka University is the third best university in Japan after the Tokyo and Kyoto Universities. It consists of three campuses in the north of the city that are approximiately eight kilometers away from each other and connected by shuttle buses.
All international students receive housing in the university's international dormitories. The dormitories are located either directly on campus or nearby. Each campus has multiple cafeterias. Typical Japanese meals are served.
The university offers a comprehensive spectrum of English lectures in each discipline. There are also a number of lectures in Japanese.
Osaka lies roughly in the middle (north-south) of Japan and is thus further south than Italy. Osaka has tropical temperatures in the summer and in the winter, it rarely falls below 0 °C. The landscape is the prettiest in the spring, particularly when the cherry trees bloom (Ohanami) and in the fall.
Osaka is located in a an urban region of Japan. Osaka flows into Kyoto and Kobe. Both cities are easily accessible with public transportation.
