Florianópolis is located in southern Brazil on a peninsula connected to mainland by a narrow piece of land. The Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, UFSC for short, is a public university in the state of Santa Catarina with its main campus in Florianópolis and other campuses in Joinville, Curitibanos, and Araranguá. The courses of study in mechanical engineering, control technology, sanitary engineering and health technology, electrical engineering, and denistry should be particularly highlighted.
