The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, IIT Mandi for short, is one of the eight newly founded technical universities in India. It is located in Mandi, in Himachal Pradesh northern India and was founded in 2009. Like all of the IITs, IIT Mandi has an engineering focus but also offers studies in the natural sciences and economics. The entrance exam for the IITs is one of the most difficult exams in the world and studies at the universities are likewise challenging. The institute offers B.Tech., M.S., and Ph.D. programs.

The IIT Mandi campus, where the university's infrastructure is currently under construction, is located in the south of the Himalayas. The region is located in the wooded mountains of Kaman, with the historical city center of Mandi twelve kilometers away. The campus offers a very good academic environment with all the necessities for a high living standard. There are modern classrooms, labs, libraries, and sports and recreational activities.

IIT Mandi has a close collaboration with the TU9 universities.
