Application

Application Requirements Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better, which roughly corresponds to an average grade of 2.0 in the German system.
Language Requirements

When applying for the program at RWTH, language skills of at least level B1 have to be attested by language certificates or Abitur certificate. This corresponds to five years of English language classes at school if you have completed your Abitur after 12th grade, or six years of English with an Abitur after 13th grade.

Upon nomination by RWTH: Please provide evidence of having passed an official English Language test such as IELTS or TOEFL. Further information on accepted tests and minimum scores is available at Accepted Tests and Requirements. Please note that higher requirements may apply to Master’s students.

Practical Information

Accommodations There is a limited number of dormitory places reserved for exchange students. Due to high demand, on-campus housing cannot be guaranteed. Students should therefore inform themselves about the various accommodation options. The cost of accommodation is approximately 3000 to 3500 Canadian dollars.
Health Insurance

Students are automatically insured for the duration of their stay abroad at UBC. The cost for health insurance is approximately 325 Canadian dollars per semester.
