"Be Buddy" is an informal mentoring programme initiated by the International Office of RWTH Aachen University which aims to enable newly enrolled international students to adjust to university life and living in a new city, and to meet, mix with, and learn from other RWTH students. Thus the International Office is intent on matching up each international student with an experienced RWTH student – if possible from the same faculty – who is to provide support and general information.
The BeBuddy programme is also a part of the Certificate-International initiative.
What is a Buddy?
Buddies are socially engaged RWTH student volunteers from all faculties who would like to meet international students and support them in the process of settling into university life in Aachen and adjust to their new surroundings. Buddies support their mentees by offering informal advice on practical issues and by discussing with their mentees the specifics of their degree course. As experienced students, they act as informal mentors of the newly arrived international students, who are thus also called "mentees".
You are an RWTH Student and you Wish to Offer your Assistance as a Buddy?

You are a (prospective) international student (Mentee) who would like to be supported?
If so, please find more information on our Mentees web site.
Testimonials
“The BeBuddy Program is cool, because freshmen can ask their personal Buddy about studying and living in Aachen. This way, it is much easier to get all the information you need for starting your life in a new city.”Anton Shavin
