Advice and Access to the Job Market for International Students
On our website we provide extensive information about the application process. This information is available in German, English, and Chinese. Application documents usually include a cover letter and resume. These documents are intended to show your qualifications for the advertised position. Please read our detailed FAQs on how to put together your application documents.
At our walk-in sessions for international students you can ask brief questions. The walk-in session takes place every Thursday from 9am to 10am on the first floor of Humboldt Haus (TraV room). No prior registration is necessary.
A small group of international students discuss and work on questions regarding the application process every Monday from 11 am to 12 noon. Please register by email.
Seminars and Lectures by the Career Center
In principle, all the Career Center events are also suitable for international students if your German language skills are sufficient for you to actively participate.
In the information event "Working in Germany after Graduation?", employees from the German Employment Agency and the City of Aachen Immigration Office provide information on the German job market and the legal framework.
The seminar Career Start in Germany – for refugee and international students offers comprehensive information and exercises on the application process in simple German.

You can also take part in a job interview training with experienced personnel from companies. In the seminar "Preparation for a job interview" you will be filmed during the simulation of a job interview and subsequently receive feedback.
Finally, you have received an invitation for an interview! But how can you best prepare? Read our tips for a successful interview. You can also register for an interview training, during which experienced hiring personnel from other companies give you feedback about your performance. This format offers you the optimal opportunity to simulate a conversation in German and to test our your impression on German employers.
