CDS Scientific Advisory Council
The Center for Doctoral Studies, CDS for short, is supported by an academic advisory council. The council consists of five professors who each represent one of the key focuses of doctoral education at RWTH Aachen University.
External Guests
Depending on the topics under discussion, the CDS Advisory Council invites external guests from science, business, and the humanities to provide additional perspectives.
Objectives and Responsibilities
The Advisory Council seeks to contribute to improving the supervision and qualification of doctoral candidates at the University. Relevant topics include the relationship between supervisors and doctoral candidates and the identification of relevant areas of additional qualification.
The Advisory Council serves as a link and a mediator between the Center for Doctoral Studies and the various academic institutions at RWTH. It supports the implementation of teaching formats concerned with the key topics responsible research and innovation, scientific integrity, research data management, interdisciplinarity; and teaching competence. In this process, the specifics of the different subjects are taken into account.
The Advisory Council is in close contact with several graduate schools of partner universities to exchange experience and information about best practice.
