Unfortunately, RWTH is currently not offering any preparatory German courses to its future students. The Language Center website will post updated information as soon as a course can be offered again.
Application to a German Language Course
RWTH Aachen University offers German courses that prepare students for the German language examination for university admission – DSH. You can apply to these language courses at RWTH’s Language Center.
In some cases, participants in the DSH language courses – for whom the International Office is responsible – can be enrolled at RWTH as students while they are taking the course. For this to be possible, you must first be accepted to the German course and then submit an online application via RWTHonline, where you will have to upload the following:
- Proof of participation in the DSH language course at RWTH Aachen University (confirmation of acceptance and confirmation of course fee payment)
- All required documents for determining your eligibility for admission at RWTH. If you would like to pursue undergraduate studies upon completing your German course, this usually includes your school-leaving certificate, university entrance examination, documentation of the total semesters studied in your home country, etc. If you are interested in pursuing Master studies, you must provide your Bachelor's degree (final transcript and degree certificate)
Once your documents have been reviewed for general eligibility to study at RWTH, you can enroll as a student in the preparatory German course.
This enrollment does not guarantee you a study placement upon completion of the German preparation course.
You will still have to apply for your chosen course of study within the given deadline and see if you are allocated a study placement in the selection process, even if you are enrolled in a German course.
