To the Online Application
RWTHonline application portal for the 2021/22 winter semester will open on May 3, 2021.
RWTHonline Selfservice will allow you to view the current status of your application. Here, you are also informed about missing documents. We recommend checking the status of your application before the deadline for submitting additional documents (January 21 for the summer semester and July 21 for the winter semester) to ensure that no documents are missing and that you can participate in the allocation process.
The Registrar's Office will only inform you that documents are missing through Selfservice. It is your responsibility to regularly check your application status.
An application is only possible after you have received your Abitur certificate.

What Does 'Open Admission' and 'Restricted Admission' Mean?
'Open admission' means that all applicants meeting the formal admission requirements, such as having a higher education entrance qualification, will be admitted to the course of study.
'Restricted admission' means that the number of available placments is limited. All applicants who meet the formal admission requirements, such as having a higher education entrance qualification, are eligible to participate in the allocation process. However, the admission process is selective and competitive, that is, not all applicants will be admitted to the course.
