Talk on Education Expansion

"Education Expansion, Differentiation of the Education System, and the Development of Social Inequalities," is the title of a presentation on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. It begins at 6pm in the RWTH Aachen Guest House, Melatener Straße 31. Markus Lörz, Project Head at the HIS - Institute of University Research, is speaking as a part of the series "University in Change – Perspectives in Gender and Diversity" by the RWTH Integration Team. All interested individuals are welcome to attend.

The path to university studies has changed in the past few decades and participation in education has increased overall. Nevertheless there are clear differences based on background during the transition to university studies. Based on empirical studies the presentation deals with the question, how inequalities have developed when entering higher education and the type of education participation in past decades have developed, and how a change in inequality mechanisms has arisen.
