The Hybrid Heating Innovation Forum – a Contribution to Energy Transition
RWTH’s Department for Industrial Furnaces and Heat Engineering Invites You to Join the Innovation Forum on April 11 and 12, 2019.
One of the greatest challenges facing the energy transition is the use of renewable energy sources in energy-intensive industries. In future, production chains and thermal processing plants in the steel, glass, ceramic, or non-ferrous metallurgical industries will have to be able to adapt to the somewhat varying availability and cost of electricity from renewable energy sources. This poses a multitude of challenges for the construction and operation of thermal processing plants. For example, industrial furnaces have to be designed for load-specific operation and also incorporated into smart grids or virtual power plants. This affects the constructors, operators, and suppliers involved in thermal processing plants and industrial furnaces.
The Hybrid Heating Innovation Forum represents a platform of cooperation that covers a wide range of technologies and fields. This networking opportunity encourages the exchange of ideas and the creation of new business models among the representatives of plant construction, operation, electricity and grid services, and administration, as well as suppliers and researchers. This forum is being coordinated by RWTH’s Department for Industrial Furnaces and Heat Engineering, under the management of Professor Herbert Pfeifer, and is being funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research for nine months in total.
The RWTH institute invites you to join the event on April 11 and 12, 2019, which will take place at the Super C building of RWTH at Templergraben 57. It is free for you to participate in the event. You can find the schedule and registration form on the Innovation Forum’s website.
In June 2019, the RWTH researchers will once again present the topic of Hybrid Heating – this time at the Thermprocess trade fair in Düsseldorf.
