Art of Science – Beauty in Creation

The artwork of CERN researcher Michael Hoch is an homage to the Large Hadron Collider, LHC  for short, and the experiments at CERN. At the center of the exhibition, which will open at RWTH on November 8, is the Compact Muon Solenoid Detector, CMS.

 

Michael Hoch segments detector images in geometric shapes such as rectangles and squares and juxtaposes them with the “chaotic” structures of nature, such as rock formations and blossoms. By superimposing such elements, new structures and variations are created.

The exhibition “Art of Science – Beauty in Creation” will open with a presentation on Friday, November 8, 2013, at 8:15 pm, on the occasion of the RWTH Science Night. The presentation will be held at the Fo1 Lecture Hall, Kármán Auditorium.

The exhibition is located in the Foyer of the Lecture Building on Professor-Pirlet-Straße 12, between November 11 to December 13, 2013. The exhibition is open Mondays to Fridays, 10 am to 6pm.

On November 11, 5pm, as part of a reception, Michael Hoch will lead visitors on a tour through the exhibition.

Attendance at the opening presentation, exhibition and reception will be free of charge
