Railway Symposium in Aachen

18/11/2019

The IRSA 29019 symposium offers an international platform for knowledge exchange between rail transport experts

Rail transport is facing major challenges, but also new opportunities to increase its attractiveness. Digitalization and automation, among other developments, offer substantial opportunities. Due to the complexity of the railway system, interdisciplinary research and collaboration are required in order to ensure the future competitiveness of rail transport.

Following the successful first edition of the International Railway Symposium IRSA in 2017, with over 200 participants from 15 countries, IRSA 2019 will again take place in Aachen between November 26 to 28, 2019.

The host of the conference, the Research Center Railways at RWTH Aachen University, seeks to continue and intensify the conversation between specialists from industry, science and the regulatory bodies on current railway topics, focusing both on research and practice. The IRSA 2019 conference program offers a wide range of topics, covering the entire railway system including infrastructure management, vehicle technology, and railway operation.
