This year's Day of Chemistry will take place Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Department of Chemistry, Landoltweg 1 and 2.

 

At the "Day of Chemistry," the institutes of the RWTH Aachen Department of Chemistry will present their research activities to both students, staff and outside visitors. This year's focus will be on international and industrial collaboration.

Furthermore, the graduation ceremony for this year's Chemistry graduates will be held on the Day of Chemistry. The graduates will receive their degree certificates and transcript of records. The best graduates in the Master of Science in chemistry course of study will be awarded with the Procter & Gamble Prize.

In addition, there will be a presentation on job opportunities in the field, complemented by experience reports from graduates of the department, as well as talks on topics such as career entry in the chemical industry and internships at the German School in Tokyo.

Keynote Lecture by Professor Ferdi Schüth

At 5:30pm, Professor Ferdi Schüth, Director of the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung and Vice-President of the Max Planck Society, will deliver the day's keynote lecture, titled "Transformation of Our Energy System: Challenges for Chemists and Engineers."

The institute presentations and lectures will start at 12pm. The graduation ceremony, which will be followed by a reception and informal get-together, will begin in the late afternoon.
