Understanding Physics!
Public physics presentation "Nanowires" at RWTH Aachen.
The production of computer chips currently utilizes extremely elaborate production processes, which define an incredible amount of electronic components onto a monocrystalline surface. In this way, microstructure elements are formed from originally large structures by means of lithographic methods.
It would be much simpler, however, if these elements would develop directly on their own. A possible approach can be found in the self-organized growth of nano structures, with which semiconductor pillars called semiconductor nanowires can be produced at only a few ten nanometers wide.
The physics presentation on the topic of "Nanowires: The Pillars of "Nano" Earth" with Professor Dr. Thomas Schäpers from Forschungszentrum Jülich takes place on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 11am to 12:30pm in the Fo2 lecture hall at the Kármán auditorium, Eilfschornsteinstraße 15.
Admission is free of charge, registration is not needed.
