RWTH Places 90th in the Global THE Ranking
Times Higher Education (THE) has now published its World University Ranking. In this ranking, RWTH Aachen University occupies a very good position worldwide at 90th place, up nine positions on the previous year. In a comparison of German universities, RWTH has risen from ninth to fifth place.
The THE ranking evaluates universities on the basis of 17 indicators, covering the areas of teaching, research environment, research quality, industry and internationality. RWTH achieved the maximum score on six indicators, and fell just short of the 100 possible points on another four.
The research reputation indicator is strongly considered in the ranking, with 70,000 academics from 166 countries having being surveyed on this. RWTH has achieved its best result to date. There have also been significant improvements in the area of internationality: the number of international students and employees as well as the proportion of publications with international co-authors have been increased.
