On November 24 and 25, 2023, the conference of the heads of the student secretariats of German universities took place at RWTH Aachen University. 160 employees from student services as well as employees from campus management providers and the management of the Foundation for University Admissions took part in the event. Under the heading "Digitalization, e-government and the Online Access Act - how are these topics changing our daily work and processes in student services?", the colleagues exchanged views on important topics relating to the digitalization of business processes in student services. Presentations were used to discuss and report on digitalization perspectives and best practice examples of individual processes that are already implemented at universities.
The main focal points of the conference included digital certificates and corresponding proof of university admission, the archiving of documents in a digital student file, connection to the BundID and e-payment. The Foundation for University Admissions also gave a presentation on the planned changes to the dialogue-oriented service procedure to optimize the allocation of study places in admission-restricted degree programmes.Copyright: © RWTH Aachen
The event was rounded off by a supporting program that also introduced the participants to the city of Aachen. A guided tour of Aachen Cathedral on the evening before the conference and a guided tour of the old town and in the footsteps of Charlemagne rounded off the conference.
