New Online Program for the Prevention of Risky Alcohol Consumption Among Students
The prevention offer eCHECKUP Alcohol allows students to get informed about the consequences of risky alcohol consumption and counteract the associated health damage at an early stage.
From the individual information provided in the first part of the program, eCHECKUP TO GO Alcohol generates personalized feedback. This provides information about:
- One's own drinking behavior (including quantity, cost, comparison with other students)
- Personal effects and health consequences of alcohol consumption
- Counseling and health promotion services at RWTH Aachen University and in the Aachen city
About eCHECKUP TO GO Alcohol
The online prevention program CHECKUP TO GO Alcohol helps participants to learn more about their individual drinking behavior and how it differs from that of their fellow students. This enables them to better assess the impact of alcohol consumption on their bodies, finances and studies.
eCHECKUP TO GO Alcohol is a self-contained, web-based prevention program for students. It was developed by San Diego State University in the USA and is in use at over 600 institutions worldwide. For universities in Germany, the original English version of the program was translated, adapted and evaluated in a project at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences that was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Health.
