Division 6.3 - Controlling and Information Management
The Division of Controlling and Information Management is part of Department 6.0 - Planning, Development and Controlling within RWTH Central University Administration.
Our Responsibilities
The Division of Controlling and Information Management supports the continued development of the University’s controlling and prepares the RWTH Aachen Table of Figures and the Figures & Facts section of the RWTH Annual Report. The division’s work focuses on information acquisition and the preparation of relevant decision-making data for the Rector’s office and other bodies at the university.
Maximum Transparency
Through cost accounting and performance reports, the division seeks to create transparency about expenditures in the various areas of the University and fulfil its reporting duties to the NRW Ministry of Science and Innovation. The division is also involved in the transition from single-entry accounting to commercial accounting.
Included among the services are the evaluation and coordination of university rankings for faculties, the continuation and expansion of resource distribution models for the annual funding allocation of the university to the faculties and assistance in the implementation of the so-called EU benefit framework.
Table of Figures and Statistics
These publications provide information on facts and figures of the University, such as number of enrolled students and graduates, academic staff, and external funding. Also, the Division regularly updates the set of RWTH presentation slides in German and English and makes it available for download on the RWTH Facts and Figures web pages.
Information for Students, Faculties and Committees
At the start of the semester the division compiles the number of new students by subject and informs the faculties about the developments. The division also maintains and expands IT-based reporting and reference number systems in order to be able to provide university committees with all necessary data. Every two years, the Division publishes the Internationalization Report, which provides information on the University's activities in the area of internationalization. This report also serves as a source of information for current and prospective international students at RWTH.
