Our Responsibilities

Networking activities between our researchers at RWTH Aachen University and their sponsors as well as their industrial partners are vital for their success. Based on open and honest communication, our aim is to establish a fruitful cooperation and long-term working relationships. By a variety of impulses we foster not only the research activities but also support the management of third party funded projects at RWTH Aachen University.

 

Department 4.0 - Research consists of two divisions:

Division 4.1 - Research Profile and Intellectual Property Management actively supports the networking activities of RWTH researchers to promote the development of new interdisciplinary research ideas. Moreover, it provides coordinative services for the RWTH Profie Areas, which pool scientific expertise in the University’s key research areas and pursue interdisciplinary, societally relevant questions. The Division also promotes the commercial exploitation of research results and provides guidance in the process of translating research into innovation. 

Division 4.2 - External Funding Management informs on German and European research programs and policies as well as funding opportunities. This division provides advice and guidance at all stages of a project, from proposal writing to project management.
