Description
For many doctoral students, writing well in English is of utmost importance for professional success. While writing in general and writing in English in particular are integral aspects of academic life, many researchers are often unsure about what is considered "good" academic writing or what makes a paper written in English successful.
The writing consultations offer individual feedback to CDS members to support them effectively in the writing process. The overall goal is to help non-native speakers produce texts that follow the linguistic and stylistic conventions distinct to Anglophone academic writing.
The students are expected to submit excerpts (max. 5 pages) from their writing three workdays ahead of the appointment, which are then discussed in detail with the writing consultant. Together, we will try to identify typical errors and develop strategies to improve your writing.
