Childcare for Children of Employees

 

RWTH Aachen strives to offer our employees supplemental child care options in addition to those that are provided by the communities.

 

Kita Königshügel

At Königshügel preschool, a collaborative effort by RWTH as sponsor and Student Services as operator, children from the age of four months are cared for until they go to school. The Kita building is located on the grounds of the RWTH botanical garden in the Königshügel area on Melatener Straße. At least one parent has to be employed at RWTH and be a resident of the city of Aachen. You can enroll via the Kita portal or alternatively by filling out an enrollment form provided by Student Services.

U3 Groups

In so-called U3 Groups children aged four months to three years are cared for by in-home daycare providers.

Child Care Places at KiTa Campus Wohnen

As of September 16, 2019, RWTH has a contingent of ten childcare places at KiTa Campus Wohnen, which is run by educcare Bildungskindertagesstätte gGmbH.

Child Care Places at KiTa Johanniterstraße

As of August 1, 2017, RWTH has a contingent of nine spots in the municipal KiTa Johanniterstraße.

Uni & Kind

The parent initiative Uni & Kind (de), which is sponsored by AStA and RWTH Aachen, offers students and staff at RWTH childcare for children aged one to three.

Uniklinik RWTH Aachen

For Uniklinik RWTH Aachen staff there are further childcare options in the special offers for short-term care as well as in the pre-school for employees called Schneebergkids.

Staff at RWTH-affiliated institutes should get in touch with their personnel office to enquire about special support offers or agreements with private preschools/Kitas.

Forschungszentrum Jülich

For children of employees working at Forschungszentrum Jülich or living in the vicinity, there is childcare available at the KiTa Kleine Füchse Jülich. The equal opportunities office of Forschungszentrum Jülich is happy to advise you if you have any concerns about combining family and career.
