Help in Case of an Emergency
What to Do in Case of Emergency
-
1
Can you leave the room and building by yourself?
-
2
If you are unable to do so, notify the remaining people in the same room loudly and clearly that you need assistance.
-
3
Call the fire department emergency number 112 on a cell phone or a phone that is installed in the room.
-
4
Provide the fire department control office with the following information: your name, your location, your personal impairment, and your telephone number.
Safety in Everyday University Life
Students often change their location during everyday university life: for example from the lecture hall to the cafeteria or the library. Quick reactions are necessary in case of emergency. For students with disabilities, cases of emergency require particular precuations.
Emergency Plan
Various offices at RWTH Aachen have created an emergency plan, that describes rescue measures for students with disabilities or chronic illness in case of emergency.
Rescue on Site
Due to your diverse mobility restrictions and personal concerns, we ask that you adhere to the emergency plan. Once you have notified the emergency call center where you are, this information will be directly sent to rescue workers, so that they can help you as quickly as possible.
How to Help Yourself in Case of Fire
Hit the fire alarm button in the room in which you currently find yourself. This ensures that rescue workers will look for this room.
We hope that you will never be in danger. However if this occurs, we would like for skilled assistance to reach you quickly.
