MoveOn

Increasing pollution on land and in sea is not only causing eoclogical and climate changes but also adverse effect on marine animal and human life. 24 % of landfill and 75 % of marine pollution is caused by polymer based products i.e. textiles. Using biodagradable polymers in polymer and textile industry is seen as a potential solution of global pollution. The aim of the project work is to achieve tailormade biodegradability for different textile applications.

Task

The research work consists of following tasks: 1. Analyse the polymer properties and suitability for variable textile applications 2. Develop filaments with variable configurations and morphology 3. Analyse effect of change in filament configurations and morphology on filament degradability.

Requirements

Background of polymer science, polymer chemistry, polymer engineering, polymer processing and textile manufacturing
