MoveOn

The topic of sustainability is gaining in importance, which is having an increasing impact on the manufacturing industry. In the course of sustainable management, the organizational resilience of companies is also gaining in importance. Crisis-proof product development is particularly important in this context, as innovative products offer a promising opportunity to create competitive advantages and secure the company's continued existence in the event of a crisis. In everyday business, however, the efficient achievement of overall corporate and product development goals is usually prioritized over the resilience of the company. In addition to focusing on efficient goal achievement, companies must also consider their resilience in order to be sustainably aligned. This results in a conflict of objectives which is to be investigated in the course of the project.

Task

Against the background of the situation described in the abstract, the aim of the project is to develop a methodology for increasing the resilience of manufacturing companies by aligning product development. For this purpose, interdependencies between goals, disturbances and design elements of product development are to be explained in order to subsequently derive modification measures for the company-specific positioning of product development in the conflict of objectives between efficient goal achievement and resilience.
