MoveOn

Experimental and theoretical study of constitutive response of thin section textile reinforced concrete (TRC) materials under various loading conditions are affected by the textile type, material properties, and also processing conditions. New techniques such as closed loop strain controlled testing and digital image analysis techniques are used to develop the correlation between materials, and their properties using various techniques. In the present approach, various modes of damage formation will be evaluated in TRC materials by means of measuring crack density, crack spacing and damage evolution under impact loads.

Task

Participate in the experimental and theoretical research in order to study constitutive response of thin section textile reinforced concrete materials subjected to impact loading will be studied. The interrelationship of textile properties and manufacturing technique used, will be studied using material properties such as stiffness, bond, impact strength, and ductility. Results will be related to performance and long term characteristics. New techniques such as closed loop strain controlled testing and digital image analysis techniques are employed for automated determination of crack density, crack spacing and damage evolution under impact loads.

Requirements

Learn and operate servohydraulic test machines in order to conduct closed loop testing of cement composite systems. Learn and use the computer programs developed for data analysis andcomputation of material properties. Softwares include MATLAB, MAPLE, Excel, Image analysis software, Grapher, MS WORD and MS Excel. Ability to write technical documents in English.
