MoveOn

The proper design of structural members under fire attack is an important aspect for safe constructions. For the innovative material textile reinforced concrete (TRC), which is a composite material, made of a textile reinforcement and a fine-grained concrete, the fire behavior is not well known today. Especially the load-bearing behavior under high-temperatures of the composite material itselve marks a gap in the state-of-the-art of science and technology today.

Task

Within this Project you will learn first how to run high temperature tests up to 1100°C with our high temperature oven, how to measure and to analyse deformations with a optical measuring system and how to use a 100 kN testing machine without ruin our laboratory. After that you have to make tension and 4 point bending tests under high temperature conditions. The Specimens for the tests would have been produced until you will arrive but there will be a possibility to look how it was done.

Requirements

The controlling of the test equipment is based on different computer systems. We will show you how to work with them but without being familiar to use a computer it would take to long. Also you should know how to use Microsoft Excel.
