Studying as a Parent
Studying and raising a child at the same time is particularly challenging.
Parents have to have an extraordinary ability to organize their day, in order to reconcile lectures, seminars, and internships with their children's care and supervision. They have less free time and have to master additional burdens resulting from more work at home and possible side jobs.
For this reason, the RWTH Family Services Center offers all student parents personal advising and support with the compatibility of studies, family, and career, helps find daycare spots for your child, and shows you financing possibilities. The goal is to make every day university life easier for families and to show ways to experience parenthood and studies as personal enrichment.
RWTH Aachen is considered particularly family-friendly and has been awarded the certificate "audit familiengerechte hochschule." It constantly works to promote and support student parent in all questions about organizing studies and work.
