The Rectorate enables the digitalization of teaching by providing resources for the transfer process, providing guidelines for the University and supporting a variety of opportunities for educators and students to improve the quality of teaching and learning in their faculties in a subject-specific manner.


The internal service units in the area of teaching are organized to support educators and students when implementing innovative teaching, learning and examination formats. Strategic projects are executed to fund a wide spectrum of didactically meaningful blended learning formats in all faculties. The Exploratory Teaching Space is used to provide educators with additional resources to test innovative forms of teaching and learning via a competitive process.

In accordance with their individual preferences, the target group, the learning content as well as the logistical and legal possibilities, educators are encouraged to take advantage of the available opportunities and fine-tune them as appropriate for their specific subject. In this way, educators at RWTH offer their students an engaging learning experience.
